UVA Law Nonprofit Clinic Information Session
The UVA Law Nonprofit Clinic pairs local nonprofit organizations with current UVA law students. Through the Clinic, nonprofit clients receive a “legal health checkup” and legal guidance on issues such as risk management, corporate governance, fundraising, and compliance with local, state and federal laws. Students work with nonprofit organizations in all stages of existence from start-up to well-established organizations.
Nonprofits chosen to participate in the clinic will meet with their student counselors to discuss issues and students will be expected to attend at least one board meeting of their client organization. Under the supervision of professional attorneys, students provide meaningful counsel to local organizations and prepare memos for their clients. In past clinics, students examined and drafted articles, bylaws, and policies.
If you feel your organization could benefit from this program, please consider attending this information session with UVA representatives at CNE to learn more.
N.B: This program is open to any nonprofit organization regardless of their focus area.
