Incorporating Sustainability into Marketing and Communications

Are you a marketing or communications professional looking to connect and learn from your peers in other organizations?

CNE’s Marketing & Communications Discussion Group provides an opportunity for folks working in communications to share challenges, swap stories, and get industry updates. Each session will focus on a different topic and include guest speakers when possible.

In May, Teri Strother Kent will be leading a discussion on incorporating sustainability into our work in communications and marketing. Teri worked as Communications Manager at the Rivanna Water and Sewer & Solid Waste Authority before joining Community Climate Collaborative in 2017, where she works as the Director of Programs & Communications. Additionally, she founded Better World Betty in 2008, a local organization dedicated to empowering people with fast, fun, and friendly eco-living tips. She also led the first green business challenge in Central Virginia, The Charlottesville Area Better Business Challenge, which helped nearly 150 businesses increase their efficiency and sustainability measures.

This program is open to anyone working or volunteering for a nonprofit organization. To encourage small-group discussion, registration will be limited to 20 participants. We encourage participants to register early!

A special thanks to LaTasha Durrett who has generously volunteered to coordinate these events.

American Sign Language interpreters or other communication access accommodations are available upon request. Please submit any accommodations requests to Andrew Robinson, Program Manager, 434-951-9042 or arobinson@thecne.org.
