LGBTQ Safe Space Training
Do you want to make your workplace more welcoming? Do you want to gain a better understanding of gay, trans, and queer identities and experience? If so, then this workshop is a great place to start.
Join Amy-Sarah Marshall, founding president of Cville Pride, for an interactive training that will introduce terminology and concepts of sexual orientation and gender identity. Amy-Sarah will draw from statistics relating to the culture, discrimination, legal status, historical context, and challenges that define, relate to, and inform the LGBTQ community. We hope that this session will broaden the perspective of, increase cultural humility in, and encourage respect and empathy in all participants.
This session is intended for organizations looking to better and more fully serve LGBTQ stakeholders.
In preparation for this session, please prepare short responses to the following questions:
- What interested you in this training?
- In what ways do LGBTQ issues come up in your nonprofit work?
- What’s the most pressing challenge or concern you hope to be able to address regarding LGBTQ inclusion?
Interested in providing training to your full staff? SafeCville can tailor the training to your specific needs. Trained organizations can showcase their status as a safe space with stickers, get listed on the Cville Pride website, and enjoy other promotions. Learn more!
