Grant Writing Series
Applications from CNE member organizations are due by Friday, October 11th.
Full participation in this training is also applicable for 12 points in Category 1.B – Education of the CFRE International application for initial certification and/or recertification.
Grant dollars are an essential source of support for nonprofits, but preparing a successful proposal can be an intimidating process for new and even experienced grant writers. Join skilled grant writer, Susie Miller, for this in depth series to learn practical and proven techniques to strengthen your grant writing power and secure funds for your organization.
Limited time is a reality for area nonprofits, and CNE has designed this series for small groups to meet in manageable segments to focus on the completion of a grant. Discover techniques to streamline the grant writing process so you can to submit concise and targeted proposals.
Selected participants will attend sessions once per week for six weeks. Assigned homework will include writing inside and outside of sessions, with the opportunity to receive individualized feedback from the speaker.
- October 14 – Introduction: Fundraising 101 and how grants fit into a diversified funding mix.
- October 21 – Preparing the Groundwork and File Cabinet
- October 28 – Researching Funding Sources
- November 4 – Build Your Case
- November 11 – Budget and Narrative
- November 18 – Share Your Final Proposal: parting words of wisdom and closing.
(All sessions are from 10am-12pm)
Participation is limited to CNE member organizations only and will be taking place at CNE’s office in Charlottesville, VA. The cost of training is $300 for one staff member or $500 for two members of your organization’s grant writing team.
