Forest Bathing Retreat
Join Wildrock for a two-hour immersion into the forest of the Blue Ridge foothills to explore the restorative power of *forest bathing*. Forest Bathing is the English translation of “Shinrin-yoku” — the Japanese name for the popular practice of connecting with the forest atmosphere for a range of health benefits. Forest bathing is a scientifically proven self-care practice for enhancing creativity, attentional focus, and positive mood states.
This retreat will include an introduction to the practice, two hours of immersion on a 3/4-mile forest trail, mindfulness practices, and a bag-lunch after (please bring your own). Admission is a suggested donation of $15, which can be made directly to Wildrock. The program will be led by a licensed psychotherapist and wilderness first aid trained guide.
***This half-day outing will take place at Wildrock, 6600 Blackwells Hollow Rd, Crozet, VA 22932. Participants must provide their own transportation to and from the event.***
Anyone working in the nonprofit sector that needs to recharge and refocus will benefit from this peaceful excursion.
