Equitable Human Resources Practices Series

Join us for an interactive and enlightening three-part series to address the Human Resource implications stemming from findings in the 2017 Regional Nonprofit Compensation and Benefits Report. Plan to attend all three unique sessions which will address several employment, talent development and retention challenges in our nonprofit community in Virginia.

February 15, 2019:
Designing an Inclusive Culture: Diversity is not just about race
Explore how important it is to create an environment where people will want to work, perform and stay. This session focuses on creating inclusiveness, closing pay gaps, and designing fair evaluation and promotion practices. Learn how to take actionable steps to create a culture that pushes mission forward, embraces an inclusive culture and creates opportunities for career development and growth.

February 22, 2019:
Hiring and On-boarding: Set-up for success
Creating equity starts in the recruitment process. Are you hiring the best talent for the future organizational culture you desire? Look at methods to assess your current hiring process and determining fair new-hire starting pay. Hear from other nonprofits who have made these changes for better results.

March 1, 2019
Employee Benefits: More than just health insurance
Many nonprofits have good benefits, but what else can be offered to enhance the employee experience and remain a competitive employer? Retain your best employees by determining what could be added to provide work-life balance especially for families and ongoing professional development. See how other nonprofits have made enhancements and additions to benefits offerings, and how they addressed any cost implications.

All sessions will include engaging learning, rich discussions, presentations from peer organizations, and action planning to take back to your organization.

We encourage the registration of multiple staff or board members from your organization that would benefit from learning together.
