Join CNE for our next 7 Actionable Principles learning series session, focused on Principle 1 Create Strategic Budgets and Principle 5 Develop Leaders. Expert practitioners with Nonprofit Finance Fund (NFF) will lead a 90-minute interactive session, providing both nonprofits and funders insight into NFF’s Full Cost Budget Framework, as well as actionable recommendations for incorporating full cost into the budget creation and review processes. Full cost names and claims all the financial resources it takes to run an effective organization for the long haul; it’s a critical framework for advancing equity and for bridging understanding between nonprofits and funders. This session will include presentation, practical discussion and resources, and Q&A on how nonprofits and funders can advance equitable full cost budgeting, in support of thriving nonprofits and communities. Participants will learn about the Full Cost Budget Framework including:

• Elements such as unfunded expenses and budget projections
• Budgeting for equity, and
• Tips for strengthening communication between nonprofits and funders.

NFF is a national leader in helping nonprofits leverage their budgets as a strategic tool for deeper impact, and in positively impacting how resources flow to nonprofits. NFF presenters will be Haydée Cuza, Eskedar Getahun, and Sendy Alcidonis.

CNE’s 7AP Learning Series brings experts from around the nation to help us all better understand how the 7 Actionable Principles for a Strong Social Sector can inform sector learning and growth on the path to equitable, just, and thriving communities. This session will be relevant not only for finance professionals within the sector, but also for anyone who engages with the financial health and sustainability of an organization, including the budgeting process, strategic planning, grant seeking and grantmaking. Virginia nonprofits, funders, and community partners are welcome and encouraged to attend.
