Data Visualization with Excel
Communicate impact to donors and other stakeholders! Inform community members about the benefits of your services! Bring your reports to the next level with cleanly designed visuals! Clearly present financial information to your board and staff!
Graphs are a quick and easy way to convey complex information—maximizing your data – and eliminating that knee-jerk overwhelm or boredom that comes from looking at spreadsheets. If you know how to make a table in Excel, but don’t know how to best organize it for graphing, aren’t sure what type of charts to use, or want some basic tips for making graphs more readable, this is the course for you! You will receive an Excel file with data and examples.
In this 4-hour, hands-on training, participants will learn:
- Why we use graphs to represent data
- Different types of graphs and when to use them
- How to clean and organize data for graphing
- Create three simple and beautiful graphs while learning tips and tricks for making graphs people want to look at
***Bring your own laptop (and mouse!) with a version of Excel that you are familiar with.***
To ensure that this training benefits all participants, we ask that attendees come with an intermediate level of Microsoft Excel knowledge. To this end, CNE, in coordination with PVCC’s WorkforceServices, will offer two Excel trainings on Tuesday, May 14. Excel Fundamental I provides a 2-hour introductory session from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 pm. Excel Fundamentals II is a 3.5-hour intermediate session from 1:00 to 4:30 pm.
Participants must register for these workshops separately. Additional fees apply.
