Budgeting Basics: The What, Why & How

Your organization has limited resources. The process of creating a budget prioritizes how you’ll use resources and provides a plan for operations. Budgets keep organizations focused on their strategic plans and facilitate coordination and communication between various programs and departments.

In this workshop, Vicki Jones of Jones & Company will explain what a budget is and why it is useful. She’ll also cover the basics of how to build a budget and use it as a tool for monitoring an organization’s finances and planning strategically for the future.

Those working in nonprofit finances, individuals new to nonprofit finances, current and prospective board treasurers, executive directors, and management staff are encouraged to attend.

This training is part of CNE’s Finance Academy developed in partnership with CFA Institute.
