Board Academy Information Session
Have you been thinking about joining a board, but don’t know where to get started? Are you a new Board Member who wants to learn the ins-and-outs of your new position? Are you an experienced Board Member looking to reinvigorate your relationship to service?
If you answered, “Yes” to any of these questions, consider CNE’s Board Academy.
The three-month curriculum consists of interactive classes, readings, experiential learning, and network building within the Charlottesville community. Sessions require advanced reading and outside classwork including a group project that spans the entire three-month program. The schedule entails two full-days and several evening workshops. Topics covered include:
- Board roles and responsibilities
- Strategy and evaluation
- Board fiscal responsibilities
- Board recruitment and retention
- Board’s role in philanthropy
- Navigating board dynamics

Applications will be accepted through November 1, 2019. Scholarships are available, inquire for details.
