Looking to make a change in your community? Wonder how best to affect the levers of power?
If so, join us for a panel discussion on advocacy for nonprofits. We’ll look at what forms advocacy can take, how it can look different depending on your organization and your goals, and how you might get different stakeholders (volunteers, board, staff) involved. We’ll hear from a panel of local nonprofit leaders who have extensive experience advocating in different ways. They’ll provide stories of success and lessons learned, as well as consider how we can advocate both with and on behalf of those we serve.
This panel will moderated by CNE’s Ryan Jacoby and include:
- Brian Johns, Executive Director, Virginia Organizing
- Michaela Lieberman, Health Justice Legal Fellow, Legal Aid Justice Center
- Maggie Guggenheimer, Chief Advancement Officer, Virginia Humanities and former Executive Director of Piedmont Council for the Arts
This session will be of interest to anyone looking to inform and influence decision-makers and others on topics and issues related to their mission.
American Sign Language interpreters or other communication access accommodations are available upon request. Please submit any accommodations requests to Andrew Robinson, Program Manager, 434-951-9042 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
