Join Center for Nonprofit Excellence and Grantmakers for Effective Organizations to learn more about the latest findings from GEO’s national field study on grantmaking practice, and to explore what types of practices make the biggest difference for nonprofits.

This year, GEO conducted a study to learn about key grantmaker practices that affect nonprofit success. GEO is now compiling the results into an update of its Is Grantmaking Getting Smarter? publication. But we’re offering you an exclusive first look at what those surveyed – including some of you and your peers – had to say!

Come for a sneak peak into current grantmaker practices and culture in Virginia and nationally, as well as the role of diversity, equity and inclusion in grantmaking. And help us consider what the survey results tell us about trends in the field and their impact on nonprofits.  Because we’re after change that will create the greatest results, we’re  inviting both grantmakers and nonprofits to participate in this joint conversation.

About GEO

Grantmakers for Effective Organizations exists to help grantmakers turn their desire to improve into real progress.

That’s the power of the GEO community. With more than 5,000 grantmakers across the globe, we work together to lift up the grantmaking practices that matter most to nonprofits and that truly improve philanthropy.

There’s no shortage of advice out there for grantmakers working to improve. There’s also no shortage of hurdles to making change.

Since 1997, GEO has provided opportunities for grantmakers to come together to share knowledge and inspire each other to act. GEO members find value in making strong connections to address mutual challenges, navigating the same journey to improve.
