Special Events

The special events displayed on this calendar are annual nonprofit fundraisers or other events of significant note. Nonprofits can submit up to two events annually.

We hope this will help our nonprofits and local committees plan annual fundraisers – thereby avoiding overlap in busy schedules.

Wild Virginia Film Festival: Hidden Rivers

September 13 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Wild Virginia has exciting news!

We’re going out on our own this year and hosting our very own film festival.  This will allow us to highlight the films closest to our hearts and to our region. This year our feature film will be Hidden Rivers.

What: Wild Virginia Film Festival: Hidden Rivers

When: September 13 in Staunton at the Visulite Cinema — show starts at 6:30pm.

Tickets can be purchased here: https://wildvirginia.org/our-programs/recreation/film-festival/

A FEATURE FILM EXPLORING AMERICA’S RICHEST WATERS

Ten years in the making, Hidden Rivers is Freshwaters Illustrated’s newest feature film that explores the rivers and streams of the Southern Appalachian region, North America’s most biologically rich waters. The film follows the work of conservation biologists and explorers throughout the region and reveals both the beauty and vulnerability of these ecosystems. You can watch the trailer here.

We’ll also be showing a few short films to keep up the film festival atmosphere and excitement you’ve come to expect from our sold-out shows. We hope you’ll join us again as a sponsor for these great events.  All the details are below.  Just let me know if you have any questions, and I look forward to working with you!

You can learn about all the options in the sponsor benefits package with the Wild Virginia Film Fest Sponsor Packet
