Special Events

The special events displayed on this calendar are annual nonprofit fundraisers or other events of significant note. Nonprofits can submit up to two events annually.

We hope this will help our nonprofits and local committees plan annual fundraisers – thereby avoiding overlap in busy schedules.

Charlottesville Area Planned Giving Council: Living and Giving With a Purpose

March 24 @ 11:30 am - 12:00 pm

Charlottesville Area Planned Giving Council

 Russell M. Grieger II, Ph.D.

Clinical Psychologist

Living and Giving With a Purpose”

Dr. Russ Grieger will discuss the power of living and giving with passionate purpose: how to create it, how to use it, and the role of the helping professionals.

For many, mature adulthood represents a time of liberation. A family has been raised, some degree of financial security has been accumulated and the day-to-day stress of productivity has slowed. But with years of healthy living ahead, the challenge is to figure out what one is to do now. More importantly, for what purpose? After all it is purpose that gives direction and meaning to what one does.

Russell Grieger, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist with a private practice in Charlottesville, VA. He provides psychotherapy to individuals, couples and families, and he facilitates well-being focused growth groups. Russ has over 30 years of experience helping individuals and organizations fulfill their mission and reach their potential for sustainable high performance. He provides programs on a range of topics and has been a pioneer in helping organizations and individuals create and sustain a culture of personal responsibility and accountability in leadership and development.

Russ received his undergraduate degree from the University of Evansville, where he played on two consecutive NCAA Championship basketball teams. He received his Masters and Doctoral degrees from Ohio State University. He is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Virginia, authored eight professional books, over 50 chapters and articles and produced a series of audio material.
