View CNE Member Profile

Founded in 1986, the Southern Environmental Law Center uses the power of the law to protect the environment of the Southeast. Working in all three branches of government, SELC shapes, implements, and enforces the laws and policies that determine the quality of the air you breathe, the water you drink, and the landscapes and communities you love. SELC has nearly 50 attorneys working in nine offices across the region (Charlottesville, Richmond, Chapel Hill, Asheville, Charleston, Atlanta, Birmingham, Nashville, and Washington, D.C.) on more than 125 cases and projects. Our 25-year track record of success has earned us a reputation as one of the most successful environmental organizations in the country. To learn more, please visit SouthernEnvironment.org.
