Mission Statement

Our yoga and meditation nonprofit shares movement and mindfulness with underserved communities around Charlottesville, VA. We produce a daily cable TV yoga program, a free daily Yoga in the Park with Monica, and offer free group yoga to veterans, local schools, day support programs, medical support groups, our front line workers, local folks needing refuge and refugees from abroad. Coming into our 3rd year of the pandemic, our community has changed. Uncertainty about livelihoods, with less physical exercise and additional stress; our yoga practice aims to foster physical resilience and an unruffled mental outlook in challenging times.

Overview

Our community effort is health and safety in response to increased . Our practice deals with daily circumstances. This practice is an invitation without criticism. We offer a safe space where differences do not prevent us from practicing together.

Program 1
Title:Mindful Mountain Yoga Cville on the air.
Description:A daily televised yoga program on the local public access cable TV (Comcast, channel 13), airing Monday thru Friday at 7:00 am.
Examples of Program Success:The residents of Charlottesville and surrounding Albemarle County access our show whether needing to work remotely from home or self isolating for health reasons. We have been in production for 2 years offering a prerecorded morning yoga program, Monday to Friday.

Description:A daily morning yoga class, open to everyone, donation based, outside and socially distanced.
Examples of Program Success:Neighbors have found this refreshing park stretch as a supportive adjunct to personal health.
