Mission Statement

The mission of Piedmont Housing Alliance is to create affordable housing opportunities and foster community through education, lending, and equitable development. Our five core values are equity, opportunity, home, community, and respect.

Key Programs

Program 1
Title:Redevelopment of Friendship Court
Description:The transformational redevelopment of aging, subsidized housing in downtown Charlottesville into an economically integrated neighborhood of opportunity for 150 low-income families with more than 260 children. Learn more at www.friendshipcourtapartments.com.
Program 2
Title:Housing Counseling and Home Ownership
Description:An award-winning program that last year helped 40 families become first-time homebuyers with our special combination of coaching and down payment financing, and assisted a total of more than 600 clients with their goals of home ownership, credit repair, debt reduction, money management, and foreclosure prevention.
Program 3
Title:Affordable Housing Development and Management
Description:Pursuing development opportunities for new high-quality affordable housing to fill the gap of over 5,000 affordable housing units needed in our community, including preservation of existing affordable housing within a portfolio of more than 600 apartment homes that we own and/or manage.

CNE is excited to launch 7 Actionable Principles for a Strong Social Sector!

Building on themes from 10 discussion sessions with 67 community members, and several leading national frameworks for nonprofit health and impact, the 7 Actionable Principles aim to create a shared understanding of what makes a healthy nonprofit and build a supportive learning community of nonprofits and funders.
