Title: | YMCA Early Learning Center |
Description: | The YMCA Early Learning Center is the largest nonprofit child care provider in the area, offering a full-day, year-round, licensed early learning program for youth ages 0-5 to prepare children to meet kindergarten readiness benchmarks and support economic self-sufficiency of low-income families. |
Examples of Program Success: | Each year, we serve over 150 low-income children and families. 87% receive a scholarship to attend totaling over $850,000 in scholarships and subsidies. 95% of children meet PALS-preK kindergarten readiness benchmarks.

Title: | Brooks Family YMCA |
Description: | The Brooks Family YMCA, located in McIntire Park is a built environment for community recreation, health and fitness in partnership with Albemarle County and Charlottesville City. At the Y, nobody is turned away for inability to pay and we offer a vibrant menu of aquatics, fitness, family recreation and youth sports for all. |
Examples of Program Success: | The Brooks Family YMCA serves over 15,000 community members each year and provides over $510,000 in scholarships to ensure that nobody is turned away for inability to pay. We average over 325,000 visits each year to help members in our community lead a more active, connected life. |

Title: | YMCA Out-of-School Time Programs |
Description: | The YMCA offers after school and summer camp programs in Charlottesville, Albemarle and Greene County to support working families while children are not in school. We are currently supporting virtual and hybrid learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. |
Examples of Program Success: | We serve over 600 children each year and provide over $500,000 in subsidies and scholarships to ensure all kids can thrive during out-of-school time hours.

Description: | The YMCA provides integrated community health and chronic disease prevention programs to include diabetes prevention, LIVESTRONG at the YMCA for cancer survivors, childhood obesity prevention programs, blood pressure self-monitoring and Enhance for better mobility and balance. |
Examples of Program Success: | The YMCA works in partnership with MOVE2Health to ensure equity and access for low-income, high-risk populations. |
