Mission Statement
Our mission is to be present in lives of children and their families fighting cancer to improve their quality of life during and after treatment.
Overview
The Ishan Gala Foundation (IGF) is a growing Charlottesville, 501c3 nonprofit with a mission to change the future for children with cancer. IGF works to improve the quality of life for local families who are fighting pediatric cancer.
IGF was founded in 2008 by Mayank and Sejal Gala after the loss of their son, Ishan, to Neuroblastoma. It has since been their mission to help other families going through such a burden, and help find a cure so that no other family would have to go through such pain. Over the course of ten years, IGF has brought together hundreds of families through events and raised thousands of dollars to raise awareness about the disease and grant some of the leading experts and institutions to fund cutting-edge treatment trials.
IGF has recently partnered with UVa Children’s hospital to provide support within the local hospital system. We are also expanding our community work and impact on children’s cancer through increased family programming and partnerships with local businesses.
