Mission Statement
Foothills Child Advocacy Center provides a coordinated system of effective response and intervention to children who have been victimized. Our goals are to minimize trauma, promote healing, and ensure child safety.
Overview
Foothills works to:
-Provide a child-friendly, safe and neutral location in which Law Enforcement and Child Protective Services may conduct and observe child forensic interviews and the non-offending parents/caregivers may receive support;
-Bring 14 community agencies together as a multi-disciplinary team in order to enhance communication and collaboration and minimize duplication of services;
-Help the team make decisions regarding protection of the child, criminal charges, and treatment needs of the child and family by conducting sound forensic interviews and risk, need, and trauma assessments;
-Promote healing by providing the child and non-offending family members support, crisis intervention, education, and needed referrals;
-Advocate for best practices in child abuse investigations and treatment; and
-Educate our community about child abuse.
