Description

JABA is seeking qualified candidate for Resource Counselor Information and Assistance Specialist.  The position links individuals who need assistance with appropriate service providers and/or supplies information about agencies and organizations that offer services thereby supporting them in their deliberations to determine how to remain in the community and/or other appropriate long-term support choices in the context of the their preferences, values, and circumstances. Must possess administrative, public relations and computer skills to manage an information and referral database, including ability to access the Internet, use applications including MS Office Word, Excel and Outlook, and PeerPlace to document services ; strong interpersonal skills; openness and flexibility in working with diverse individuals and groups; Ability to build excellent working relationships with individuals, caregivers, staff, volunteers, community agencies and the general public; excellent listening, customer service and interviewing skills; excellent organizational and documentation skills; valid driver’s license and ability to travel to the extent of designated counties and other areas for delivery of services, meetings, and trainings. Skills Required

Associates degree or higher degree preferred, with minimum of three years experience in human services area.  Alliance of Information & Referral Systems (AIRS) certification within one year of hire; training for this certification must begin within 6 months of hire.  Certification as an Options Counselor within 3 months of hire.

Work Schedule

Monday – Friday – Hours 8:30am to 5pm.  37.5 hour work week.
