Description

GreenBlue is an environmental nonprofit dedicated to the sustainable use of materials in society. We are a reliable, trusted source of information, bringing together a diversity of stakeholders to encourage innovation and best practices to promote the creation of a more sustainable economy. We’re looking for someone who will provide excellent support for our CleanGredients project.

You:

  • Have professional experience in an office/research setting
  • Want to contribute to the entrepreneurial nonprofit community
  • Are a fast learner with a desire to continuously grow your sustainability knowledge base
  • Organize yourself to make sure you get all your work done and meet your targets
  • Can work independently and as a part of a team
  • Have strong attention to detail

Responsibilities:

  • Customer service, outreach, and communications for CleanGredients
  • Create and conduct stakeholder phone presentations, proposals , and demonstrations
  • Learn principles of green chemistry, specifically EPA’s Design for Environment chemical hazard assessment methodology
  • Conduct research and summarize findings
  • Update content for websites and training materials
  • Travel to 1-2 conferences or industry events each year
  • Provide stakeholder feedback to project and operations teams
  • Assist with project budgeting
  • Assist with ad hoc projects as needed

Skills Required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (chemistry or toxicology a bonus)
  • Excellent research and writing skills
  • Professional verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting
  • Microsoft Office & Google Apps
  • Interest in GreenBlue mission
  • Ability to work full time in our downtown Charlottesville office
