Description

Rare Book School (RBS), is searching for an energetic, ambitious, and forward-thinking, full-time Program Manager to assist the Director of Programs & Education in facilitating excellent educational programming. In addition to working with the Director of Programs & Education, he or she will work closely with the Admissions Officer and the Program Assistant to maintain and improve upon the successful educational programming at RBS.

The Program Manager will asked to:

  • communicate regularly with individuals who are learning about, applying for, participating in, instructing, sponsoring, supporting, or variously related to any RBS course or program;
  • oversee course-specific advertising;
  • plan the space, staff, and supply logistics for events and course activities during each week-long session in Charlottesville as well as at satellite course locations throughout the year;
  • assist with tracking course applications through the admissions process;
  • assist with hiring and/or managing session staff;
  • assist in administering scholarship/fellowship committees and tracking awards;
  • maintain records of program communications;
  • ensure compliance of program budget;
  • track and prioritize updates for our online admissions database;
  • edit and analyze course evaluation data; and
  • carry out other program-related duties as needed.

This is a full-time, year-round salaried position with a potential for leadership. Starting salary and benefits package is competitive and may be adjusted depending on relevant experience. Skills Required

Required qualifications: Qualified applicants must have a bachelor’s degree, proficiencies with PC and Mac operating systems, MS Office Suite, and database management experience as well as familiarity with the Chicago Manual of Style. The position requires increased hours and weekend work during course sessions as well as some travel to support RBS classes. Applicants need to able to work in a collections-focused environment and to lift at least 40 pounds
