Description

Internship Overview:

Historically, the field of contemplative science has been dominated by a select, and largely racially and ethnically homogenous group of scientists, scholars, and practitioners; and just a handful of institutions.  To address this disparity, the Mind & Life Institute has made the commitment to being an incubator and leader of initiatives to increase diversity and inclusion in the field of Contemplative Science and to widen its scope geographically to include individuals and institutions outside of North America and Europe.  This work includes the development of the Advisory Council for Diversity and Inclusion and securing funding for the proliferation of Mind & Life programming in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.  The Outreach intern can expect to support the work of the Senior Manager for Diversity, Inclusion & Global Outreach including:

  • Developing and implementing the Strategic Plan for Diversity & Inclusion;
  • Providing training and consultation for Mind & Life staff, board, Fellows and other key stakeholders;
  • Coordination of student internship program; and
  • Cultivating relationships to support the development, implementation and evaluation of global program initiatives including International Research Institutes and Think Tanks
