Description

The Community Idea Stations is seeking a Major Gifts Officer for our Charlottesville and Shenandoah Valley markets (WHTJ/WVPT).  This is a full time position with benefits that reports to the Director of Major Gifts. The Major Gifts Officer will cultivate relationships with donors in Charlottesville and the Shenandoah Valley. This position acts as a donor resource, staying current with programming, station initiatives and donor opportunities and representing donor interests.

Skills Required

The successful candidate will have a college diploma, supplemented by five years of non-profit development experience and a strategic entrepreneurial approach to donor cultivation. Candidates should have a track record of success working with philanthropic individuals in the Charlottesville/Shenandoah Valley and live in or nearby the area. Candidates should be patient, diplomatic communicators with strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Candidates must be proficient in MS Office and relational databases. Candidates must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings and should possess a valid Virginia driver’s license. Successful applicants will have a passion for public broadcasting and its mission and knowledge of public media content.
