Description

The Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for the interior and exterior physical appearance and upkeep of fifteen houses and all community buildings. In a proactive fashion, ensures the community buildings and houses meet Innisfree Village’s standards for integrity, quality and functioning through the oversight, sharing and completion of items in a safe manner such as work orders, turnovers, and projects. In a timely manner, communicates significant incidents, issues and or concerns to supervisor.

Job Duties

  • Manages the maintenance and upkeep for Innisfree Village in a timely manner while adhering to all applicable government regulations and Innisfree’s policies and procedures and standards including safety
  • Maintains respectful, courteous and positive relationships with residents/volunteers and staff
  • Maintains a safe and organized work environment. Immediately addresses any safety concerns for residents, volunteers and visitors
  • Prioritizes and schedules the workweek
  • Enters data into property management software in a timely and accurate manner
  • Schedules and oversees all service contracts and assure semiannual inspections as required for furnaces, AC and generators
  • Replaces water filters, air filters, faucets, toilets, light fixtures, hot water heaters, household appliances as needed per inspections and W/O’s
  • Cleans gutters, pressure washes porches, and takes larger trash to the dump
  • Assists farm/grounds crew with snow removal- plowing, snow blowing, and shoveling
  • Completes construction based projects: replacing floors, rebuilding railings, and repainting surfaces
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Ability to communicate with all residents, employees and visitors in a respectful and courteous manner
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive, professional collaborative relationships
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to motivate employees and self while maintaining a positive work atmosphere
  • Ability to have flexibility and support the village as needed
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail. Required documents must be collected and submitted punctually and accurately.
  • Ability to learn new software in a timely manner and to enter data accurately in software
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 5 years’ experience
  • Valid driver’s license with no major restrictions and acceptable to Innisfree’s insurance carrier required
  • Must be able to meet the requirements of a Drug Free Workplace and pass criminal background check as required by VA Department of Social Services

 

Additional Info

This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position; 40 hours, salary commensurate with experience
