Description

NCCDF is hiring a full-time Housing Specialist-Office Manager to assist the Executive Director with the day-to-day operations of both the Nelson County Community Development Foundation (NCCDF) and the management of The Nelson Center. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Housing Specialist-Office Manager is primarily administrative, but could include some programmatic aspects.

Job Duties

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Office Management: Work with Director on all accounting processes for NCCDF and Nelson Center – accounts payables and receivables and all relevant paperwork. Maintain inspection and maintenance schedules for all rental units and the Nelson Center.

Housing Choice Voucher Program: Be an agent for the HCV Program and assist Director with as many as 90 clients in Nelson and Amherst and Appomattox Counties, including annual re-certifications and unit inspections.

The Nelson Center: Work with the Director to manage The Nelson Center including maintaining facility use calendars for rental space, ordering supplies as necessary, and coordinating with cleaning and grounds staff.

Skills Required

Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ office experience
  • Inclusive, self-directed, adaptable, agile, and flexible
  • Proven ability to work well with others, including community leaders, elected officials, a diverse collection of team members, and people experiencing extreme poverty
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong collaborator and problem solver
  • Comfortable with computers, MS Office Suite, and able to learn new software programs
  • Bonus – familiarity with Quickbooks and/or real estate development and/or construction

We are a small organization with offices in the historic Nelson Center in Lovingston, VA.
