Qualifications
The CIFF Executive Director is a professional position requiring the ability to provide strategic direction as well as manage a wide variety of daily administrative and programmatic tasks. The chosen candidate must have strong communication skills and ease in maintaining working relationships with a wide constituency ranging from people who live in our community without legal status, to attorneys, donors and partner organizations. Fluency in both oral/written English and Spanish and familiarity with local and regional needs are essential. Desired qualifications include: experience in nonprofit administration, staff management, community organizing, volunteer coordination, and board relations; proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and Quickbooks; knowledge of social media and other non-traditional forms of communication; and willingness to engage in both major donor and foundation fundraising.

Responsibilities

  • Daily financial management and administrative oversight, with volunteer bookkeeper and accountant
  • Work with staff to handle bond and legal support applications, including intake, connecting with attorneys, families, convening board votes, document storage
  • Coordinate with staff, volunteers, and attorneys to post bond at the ICE facility in Richmond
  • Recruit and train volunteer obligors
  • Collaborate with part-time staff and volunteers to manage communications (website, regular emails, newsletter, fundraising, and SM)
  • Work in conjunction with the board’s fundraising committee to raise funds for CIFF, including write grants and reports, research new funding sources, engage with donors, draft and coordinate fundraising campaigns, manage donor / fundraising administration (timely thank yous, entering contributions into a database, providing tax receipts, etc.)
  • Network with local, regional, and national organizations/activists
  • Maintain membership and best practices as a community bond fund alongside National Bond Fund Network
  • Work with Board Chair to recruit and manage the board, advisers, and lead volunteers
  • Organize monthly board meetings and committee calls, with board chair
  • Conduct banking needs as signatory on bank account
