The Virginia Chapter of TNC seeks an administrative professional to provide direct support to the Virginia State Director, and the Virginia Board of Trustees. For over 60 years, the Virginia Chapter has been working to create a future where people and nature can thrive. Job Duties

The Executive Coordinator & Board Liaison (Coordinator) will perform a variety of high-level administrative tasks, including partnering with the State Director to manage their activities as well as those of the board of trustees. Duties include managing the State Director’s calendar, correspondence, travel, expenses, meeting and special events logistics, and creating presentations. They also provide support for trustees including managing preparations for board and committee meetings, and other trustee communications.

 

The Coordinator will work knowledgeably and confidently across our departments and program teams providing a critical link to the State Director. They will communicate on behalf of the State Director and will have substantial contact with important stakeholders, including trustees, all levels of staff, donors, volunteers, vendors, and business relations, and will take on additional duties to enhance the work of the team.

 

The Coordinator will act independently within broad program goals to prioritize tasks in the absence of specific instructions and exercise independent judgment to identify and solve problems; work is diversified and may not always fall under established practices and guidelines.

 

The successful candidate will be intellectually curious, willing to learn new skills, detail-oriented, and able to balance multiple priorities.  They are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment both independently and as part of a team.

Skills Required

Minimum Qualifications
·         Bachelor’s degree and 3 years related experience or equivalent combination

·         Experience in business writing, editing, and proofreading

·         Experience managing the schedule and contacts of a senior leader

·         Strong organization skills, accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks

·         Ability to use existing technology and software to achieve desired results (Zoom, PowerPoint, and Adobe)

·         Experience working across departments and communicating with a wide range of people

Preferred Qualifications
·         Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.

·         Ability to implement complex processes

·         Demonstrated experience using diplomacy and tact to build strong relationships and motivate staff

·         Ability to hold sensitive work in confidence.

·         Experience interpreting guidelines to achieve desired results

·         Experience supervising staff, interns and/or volunteers; and/or

·         Successful experience implementing strategic program goals.

 

Work Schedule

Monday – Friday, 9 – 5, some flexibility with hours

Additional Info

The position will be based in the Charlottesville, VA office.

 

The target salary range for this position is $60,000 – $67,000 depending upon experience.
