Description

The Events Coordinator is responsible for the management and coordination of fundraising, awareness, recruitment, and recognition events at Piedmont CASA. This position will also be responsible for marketing and staffing events. The Events Coordinator will work in coordination with the Program Director, Advancement Director, and President.

This is a part-time, salaried position with an opportunity for advancement as the organization expands its service area.

Job Duties

  1. Planning, implementation, and follow-up for Piedmont CASA fundraising events, volunteer and donor appreciation events, recruitment events, and other events that may be scheduled in collaboration with the staff;
  2. Develop sponsorship guide listing all event sponsor opportunities as applicable;
  3. Manage all aspects of volunteer committees and volunteer coordination for events, including but not limited to, staffing, recruitment, supervision, training and acknowledgement;
  4. Coordinate event publicity, including public relations and advertising;
  5. Responsible for the development and fulfillment of the events budgets;
  6. Responsible for in-kind donation solicitations for each event;
  7. Cultivate and maintain relationships with vendors and venues;
  8. Coordinate logistics of events; and,
  9. Ensure thank you letters are sent to sponsors, donors, and volunteers from each event.

Perform any other duties as assigned by the President & CEO.

Skills Required

  1. 2+ years of experience in event planning and coordination;
  2. The ability to work cooperatively with different personalities and individuals of diverse racial/economic/cultural backgrounds;
  3. Flexibility (ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for scheduled special events);
  4. Must be a self-starter and able to independently move projects forward, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines;
  5. Working knowledge of computers, word processing and database management;
  6. Strong attention to detail;
  7. Willingness to use own mode of transportation in job capacity; possession of or eligibility for valid Virginia operator’s (driver’s) license; and
  8. Commitment to Piedmont CASA’s mission and program goals and completion of selected Piedmont CASA training classes as identified by the President & CEO.

This role will be based out of our Charlottesville office but work will be done remotely.
