CLASSIFICATION: Specialist Level, Full-time, Salaried (with benefits), Exempt
REPORTS TO: EPS Administrator

Summary: The Ethical Practices System (EPS) Specialist enhances the mission of the
Association by supporting the coordination of the RID’s grievance system, referred to as
the Ethical Practices System (EPS). The EPS Specialist is part of a team committed to
the practical application of ethics, specifically the NAD-RID Code of Professional
Conduct (CPC), to the interpreting and transliterating professions, as well as to RID
members and certification holders and the handling of the organization’s grievance
process against allegations of violations of the NAD-RID CPC. The EPS Specialist will
assist the EPS Administrator in addressing a broad range of issues as applied to ethics,
credentialing, and professional standards and discipline in three core areas: EPS case
management, document management, and process management. The EPS Specialist
will assist with processing of complaints regarding alleged violations of the NAD-RID
CPC following the practices and procedures outlined in the EPS Manual.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Assist with correspondence and inquiries from members and stakeholders
regarding ethics related issues, information and referral and technical assistance.
Organize inbox and case information as needed in Case File.
2. Assist with creation, organization, and maintenance of Case Files, including the
complaint, response and any evidence provided by either party.
3. Assist with general inquiries regarding the EPS, including referring to Ethics
Website, providing copies of documentation (Complaint Form, CPC, CPC in ASL,
EPS Policy Manual, etc) create and share links to ShareFIle to upload ASL
Narratives.
4. Assist with updating Case Tracking, including ensuring parties comply with
established timelines and monitoring case thorough process.
5. Assist Administrator with inquiries regarding case status.
6. Simple case review using established criteria in EPS Policies.
7. Create case and load case information into RID’s member database.
8. Assist with coordination of mediations, including logistics, location, travel of
mediators if needed and tracking reimbursements and other financial costs
associated with mediation.
9. Assist with compilation of data for organization’s Annual Report and other special
requests by members, Board or other departments.
10.Assist with the provision of accessible material (Braille, specific fonts and
formats) upon request.
11. Assist with updating forms and policy manuals.
12.Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
● Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in communications, ASL, English, Deaf
Studies, Interpreting, ethics, justice, philosophy, health studies, social work,
sociology/psychology, social justice, or a related area
● At least 3 years of related experience in the responsible administrative
experience supporting a unit or project within a complex organization
● ASL and written English fluency required
● Proven diplomacy skills and commitment to customer service
● Experience with database programs
● Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and independent decision-making
● Ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills
● Ability to work independently while also working collaboratively with a team to
develop and carry out projects and duties
● Demonstrated administrative and coordination skills
● Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail, accuracy and confidentiality
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google products

SALARY AND BENEFITS
This is a specialist-level position with a salary range starting at $45,000. Salary is based upon
the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications.
