The Director of Finance will be responsible for management of all finance, business planning and budgeting for Whole Woman’s Health and Whole Woman’s Health Alliance. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, supervision of accounting staff to include accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and reconciliation of all accounting functions; organizational budgets in collaboration with the Executive Team, and procurement of goods and/or services.

This scope includes supporting multiple organizations that the management company, Whole Woman’s Health, LLC, has contracted with – including for profit and nonprofit clinic sites and advocacy organizations throughout the US. Working with the executive team, the position also contributes to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies and practices for short/long term financial planning to support the financial strategic goals.

Reporting to the COO, this position’s primary responsibility is ensuring the management company’s financial health by providing supervision for the organization’s financial planning, budgeting and reporting, revenue cycle and control, accounting, office services, and legal, tax and regulatory matters at Whole Woman’s Health, LLC. and Whole Woman’s Health Alliance.

The candidate must be able to adapt to a continually evolving environment and thrive in an autonomous and deadline-oriented workplace while managing a finance staff. Must have unquestionable ethics, high standards, and able to protect the integrity of confidential information at all times.

Job Duties

Financial
• Oversee daily financial management, planning, systems and controls
• Participate in annual budgeting and planning process for the organization’s annual budget with Executive Team, track budgets and financial reporting
• Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward financial excellence
• Oversee budgeting, financial forecasting, and cash flow for administration, existing programs, and proposed new sites
• Drive initiatives in the functional teams and organizationally that contribute to long-term operational excellence
• Organization of fiscal documents, and overview of vendor information leases, policies and registrations
• Develop and utilize forward-looking, predictive models and activity-based financial analyses to provide insight into the organization’s operations and business plans
• Regular meetings with CEO around fiscal planning
• Supervise day to day processing of accounts receivable and payable using ABILA accounting system, producing reports as requested
• Reconciling monthly activity, generating year-end reports, and fulfilling tax related requirements
• Oversee monthly and quarterly assessments and forecasts of organization’s supplies, inventories and contracted service performance against budget, financial and operational goals
• Review and approve preparation and finalization of monthly and annual financial reporting materials and metrics for Nonprofit’s board of directors

Administrative
• Improve financial systems, processes and policies in support of the organization’s mission — specifically, support better procurement management, vendor selection, inventory tracking, accounts payable/receivable, reporting/information flow and office management
• Manage grantor contracts and reimbursement requests
• Manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of Accounting and Administrative staff, through improvements to each function, as well as coordination and communication between support, clinic and business functions
• Remotely supervise and coach Accounting and office staff at the Austin administrative office of WWH, LLC
• Handle the IT/server/tech support issues at the Austin admin office. Serve as primary contact for IT vendor
• Supervise and monitor all accounting systems and procedures to ensure all pledges, billings and receipts are captured and all revenue transactions are recorded
• Ensure that Accounting Department requests are resolved and communicated in a timely manner to internal and external parties

Skills Required

• Commitment to reproductive and social justice and the WWH mission
• At least 5 years’ experience in a senior financial-management role, partnering with executive staff, resulting in the development and implementation of creative financial management strategies
• Degreed in accounting or business management
• 3 plus years’ experience in hands on bookkeeping – Accounting credentials preferred
• Significant experience in or knowledge of nonprofit accounting, including sophisticated fund and grant accounting, compliance, and reporting
• Strong background and work experience in general business management
• Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects or initiatives.
• Budget development and oversight experience
• A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
• Excellent people manager, open to direction and a collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done

Physical Requirements
Must possess the ability and capability to perform any task in the office. Must be able to lift 15 lbs or more, be able to physically move through the office unaided, and have excellent visual and hearing acuity.
