Description

The Director of Finance will be responsible for all facets of financial administration and management as well as oversight of issues pertaining to physical infrastructure. The Director of Finance will oversee budgeting, financial forecasting, and cash flow for administration, existing programs/services, and proposed new programs and sites. They will define the process and implement the infrastructure/systems needed to support the operations and growth of the agency. They will also continue to build and manage effective and streamlined administrative/financial systems. As a member of the Leadership Team, the Director of Finance will be involved in strategic planning and fiscal evaluation of the agency.

This is a full-time professional level exempt position. The incumbent reports to the Executive Director. In carrying out position duties, they perform in accordance with professional ethics and established policies. The incumbent is expected to function with substantial initiative as well as utilize independent judgment.

Job Duties

  • Responsible for daily accounting operations including GL, AP, cash receipts, payroll, AR and reconciliations, in keeping with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP.)
  • Oversee budgeting, financial forecasting, and cash flow for administration, existing programs/services, and proposed new sites with the Executive Director.
  • Utilize ADP and Quickbooks for payroll and vendor payments.
  • Prepare, review, and approve month-end and annual financial reporting; maintains annual budget.
  • Coordinate and serve as point of contact for all agency financial audit activities.
  • Serve as key member of the Leadership Team on the organization’s financial, budgeting, and administrative processes- including HR, payroll, and benefits functions—with an eye for continuously developing and improving systems.
  • Develop successful and trusting relationships with the funding sources, debtors, and creditors.
  • Coordinate maintenance of records and all required documentation concerning fleet and facility management, maintenance, and accounting operations in accordance with GAAP and licensure requirements.

Skills Required

Knowledge of: Considerable knowledge of and experience with non-profit accounting; GAAP; thorough knowledge of non-profit service delivery and reimbursement models, including Medicaid. Solid experience with QuickBooks, Microsoft Office and ideally ADP

Skills: excellent people skills; willing to collaborate with others within a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team; technologically savvy; highly detail-oriented; resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing new ways of creating efficiencies, and guiding investment in people and systems; proven effectiveness in leading professionals in finance, accounting, and business operations to include fleet and facilities

SUGGESTED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or Finance.

At least five (5) years of professional level experience in legal, audit, compliance, budget, and resource development ideally including the management of the finance and administrative functions of a non-profit agency.

They should have demonstrated experience in financial management and accounting in the nonprofit sector with a clear focus on fiscal strategic planning while creating and driving the analytic and budgetary framework for planning and managing organizational change or any combination of training/experience and education that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job duties.

Work Schedule

SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, Monday- Friday
