Description
Central Virginia Legal Aid Society (CVLAS), a nonprofit law firm providing free legal representation and education to low income people in civil cases from offices in Charlottesville, Richmond, and Petersburg, Virginia, seeks a full-time development director to lead our fundraising efforts from our Richmond office. This is a new position in an established nonprofit with an annual budget of 3 million dollars and 39 employees.
Salary range at $50,000-$70,000, (dependent on experience) and excellent benefits, including health, dental, vision, disability and life insurances, contribution to 401k and generous leave, among others. Job Duties
Developing goals and strategies for our fundraising campaigns, organizing large-scale fundraising initiatives, communicating to foster CVLAS’s brand, building relationships with donors, board members, staff and volunteers, coordinating fundraising events, and grant research, writing, and tracking. The position reports to the Executive Director and will sit on the organizations leadership team.
Skills Required
Our ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of fund development experience, preferably with nonprofits. They should also be familiar with nonprofit CRM software and other fundraising technology to use in their daily job duties. CVLAS seeks a candidate that wants to build a strong development program from the ground up.
