Direct Support Professionals

Description

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) for The Arc of the Piedmont is responsible for the implementation of person-centered plans through teaching and assisting the people we support in a community based residential setting, or in one of our Adult Activity Program settings. DSP’s maintain required documentation and reporting, assist with personal care as needed, foster a warm and caring home environment and initiate in-home and community based recreation activities. A high school diploma or equivalent is required and, as always, we seek creative innovative individuals with an eye towards providing the greatest quality of life possible for the people we support. We currently have the following DSP positions available:

• Crozet (Jarman’s Gap program.) Full-time, 40 hours per week. Sun 10a-6p, Wed- Sat 3-11p
• Crozet (Jarman’s Gap program.) Full-time, 38 hours per week. Weds. & Th. 11p-8a, Fri and Sat. 11p-9a
• Crozet (Jarman’s Gap program.) Part-time, 12 hours per week. Sat. and Sun. 9a – 3p.
• Charlottesville (JPC program.) Part-time, 23 hours per week. Tues, W, Th 3-8, Sat. 3-11
• Charlottesville (Shamrock program.) Part-time, 14 hours per week. Sat& Sun 8a-3pm.
• Charlottesville (Shamrock program.) Part-time, 15 hours per week. Mon. – Fri. 6a – 9a.
• Charlottesville (Shamrock program.) Part-time, 16 hours per week. Fri-Sat 12-8pm
• In-Home Services, Louisa County. Variable hours depending on time of year. Full-time (40 hrs./wk.) during the summer months (M-F 8-4 May 30-Aug. 9) and Part-time (10 hrs./wk.) during the school year (M-F 4p-6p Aug. 10-May 29, with an occasional weekend day possible.)
• In-Home Services. Part-time (16 hours per week.) Mon 2-6, Wed 2-6, Thurs 4-8 and Fri 2-6.
• In-Home Services. Part-time (9 hours a week.) Tues 5-9 and Sat 12-5 .

The Arc provides paid training such as Medication Administration, CPR and First Aid, all of which are required for employment. We are always interested in hearing from candidates interested in direct support work. The starting rate for Direct Support Professionals is $10.25/hour, though we do adjust for experience and education. Relief positions are also available, working on an as needed basis.
