Description

The Focused Ultrasound Foundation, a medical research, education and patient advocacy organization in Charlottesville, VA, is seeking a Development Officer to assist the Director of External Affairs with funding- and donor-related activities for the Foundation. With the Director of External Affairs and other Development Officers, this position coordinates fundraising initiatives and collects current and prospective donor information. The Development Officer cultivates professional relationships with individuals, foundations, and other agencies; and also provides continuous support to the Foundation marketing efforts.

Job Duties

 

  • Increase the number and quality of donor prospects through individual visits, research, donor database management, and networking.
  • Manage portfolio prospects, using focused strategic approaches.
  • Work with Communications and Scientific staff to customize materials for successful marketing and solicitation.
  • Cultivate, solicit and provide attentive stewardship for philanthropic donors.
  • Manage donor events, including identifying guests and coordinating organizational support for events.

Skills Required

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 5 years of experience in development, wealth management, banking, or related field
  • Successful track record establishing relationships based on trust in a prior career
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with database management
