Description

The College Foundation of the University of Virginia, which exists to support the College and Graduate School of Arts & Sciences, is conducting a search for a Development Associate. The incumbent will function as support for multiple members of the development team. The ideal candidate must be a versatile, skilled and creative team player. Candidates should also foster teamwork, the ability to focus on client needs, and organization.

Job Duties

Responsibilities:

  • Provides support for the Development team: filing; preparing correspondence, mailings, photocopying, mail, and packages; arranging meetings with donors, faculty members, and others
  • Maintains Development Officer’s calendar, if requested
  • Prepares spreadsheets, reports, metrics, charts, illustrations, presentations and other projects as requested
  • Plans, develops, schedules, and manages projects to completion
  • Responsible for collection and distribution of Foundation mail
  • Makes travel, meeting and other arrangements for staff and any guests traveling with a gift officer. May be asked to help schedule, confirm, or rearrange appointments during trips and other activities supporting agenda and travel management
  • Prepares itineraries for each trip and assists with obtaining directions. Completes pre-travel forms required for reimbursement and obtains appropriate signatures.
  • Gathers and organizes receipts for reimbursement and provides travel package to fiscal administrator for processing
  • Assist team members with prospect research, reporting and other stewardship projects as assigned, utilizing Ellucian CRM Advance and other online sources of information.
  • Actively uses, updates, and corrects donor database and maintains foundation and individual donor files
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Work Qualifications

Degree required: High School Diploma is required.

Minimal level of relevant experience: Preference for at least 2 years experience in an administrative support role.

Proficiency and/or experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, Access and PowerPoint is required.

Ability to use electronic databases and conduct sophisticated internet-based research is preferred

CAP, CAP-OM preferred. Ellucian Advance or CRM experience strongly preferred

Familiarity with fundraising is desirable

The annual salary will be commensurate with experience and fall between $38,000 and $42,000.
