Jefferson Area Children’s Health Improvement Program (CHIP) is seeking two Community Outreach Workers for the City of Charlottesville and Albemarle County. Outreach workers will promote CHIP within specific neighborhoods, attending and organizing events, and refer families for CHIP services. Position will also promote and complete developmental screenings for babies and young children. This is a part-time position requiring 3-4 four hours per week, with more hours possible.
Applicants must be familiar with the local neighborhoods and the broader community. Current and former residents of public housing are encouraged to apply. Persons who have completed Community Health Worker training, have community outreach skills and/or knowledge of community resources preferred. Spanish language ability a plus. Some evening and weekend hours required.
