Description

Wildrock is looking to add a Communications and Development Specialist to our enthusiastic and compassionate staff team. The Communications and Development Specialist supports and advances Wildrock’s annual fundraising, marketing, and communications efforts. This full-time position will touch many aspects of our nonprofit’s fundraising efforts, including data and task management, writing, donor engagement, traditional and social media outreach, and community marketing efforts. This person will also play a pivotal role in sharing information and broadening awareness of Wildrock’s program offerings within the community. We are looking for a passionate, organized and flexible individual looking to advance their career and elevate the conversation around nature play. 

Wildrock is a nonprofit organization that promotes nature play for health and happiness. We have a playscape in Crozet, Virginia and offer outreach programs in Charlottesville and surrounding counties.

Job Duties

  • Works closely with the Co Executive Director to implement the annual development and marketing plans

  • Provides support for all development and marketing efforts, such as donor database management, donor research, reporting, analytics, calendar/deadline management, and meeting preparations

  • Manages CRM and ensures timely email communications

  • Manages content and production for the organization’s marketing materials, including but not limited to social media, website, advertisements, flyers, press releases, etc.

  • Assists with event planning, mailings and occasional programs

Skills Required

  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills

  • Flexibility, creativity, and initiative to tackle a range of duties

  • Excellent organizational skills using google suite. Strong track record of excellent administrative skills preferably in a school, nonprofit, camp, or human service environment

  • Curiosity and an interest in building nonprofit and fundraising expertise

  • Excellent networking and project management skills

  • Experience working with design, social media and website programs, such as: Bloomerang, Canva, Mailchimp, WordPress, Squarespace, Photoshop

  • Creative mindset and interest in working in a collaborative team environment

  • Passion for engaging children and promoting nature play for all

  • Personal commitment to DEI work; experience working in a setting committed to DEI work preferred
