The Bridge is seeking a Treasurer with an interest and appreciation and belief in the power of art and culture to improve lives and teach us more about ourselves, each other, and the world around us. An ideal treasurer for The Bridge will be a Certified Public Accountant with a willingness and ability to track the programs, projects and fiscal partnership arrangements The Bridge hosts. The Treasurer will occupy a position on the executive committee and confidently provide guidance specific to the needs of the organization. The Treasurer will communicate as needed with the Executive Director and other members of the organization to ensure financial health.
About The Bridge: The Bridge Progressive Arts Initiative is a cultural hub, offering dynamic, inclusive, and accessible opportunities for creative thinking and artistic pursuits. We engage the breadth of contemporary culture by providing resources and methodology for meaningful arts engagement throughout Charlottesville and Central Virginia. Our programming history includes over a decade of exhibitions, public art, murals, workshops, classes and performances. As a community-driven organization, we work to dissolve social barriers by supporting the work of emerging artists and bringing people together through collaborative practices and cultural programming.
Annual Time Commitment (including committee meetings, special events, work outside the board, etc.)
The Board of The Bridge meets once monthly. As an board actively committed to the wellbeing of the organization, board members typically serve on an additional committee. In this case, The Treasurer will participate on the Executive Committee alongside the Chair and Vice Chair. The Board of The Bridge enjoys a friendly and positive board culture. An ideal Treasurer will be an enthusiastic participant in activities and programs hosted by The Bridge, including fundraising efforts, and will be enthusiastic about doing all necessary to ensure The Bridge remains financially healthy and effective in reaching our goals.
