Desired skills, perspectives, experiences, and characteristics of new board members
The County Commission on Aging (COA) works to gain insight on the aging community and inform decisions on transportation, medical care, and caregiving. The COA fulfills this mission by working with residents and community organizations to understand the needs of older adults and their caregivers, supporting local aging-related events, holding monthly public meetings and reporting its findings to the Louisa County Board of Supervisors.
COA is searching for a volunteer board member who lives in Louisa County to participate in-person monthly meetings, attend events, and promote COA in the community. Board members should have an interest in aging issues. Computer skills are appreciated.
Must live in Louisa County and be 18 years or older.
Annual Time Commitment (including committee meetings, special events, work outside the board, etc.)
Time Commitment Information:
- 4-5 Hours Monthly (aprox)
- 60 Hours Yearly (aprox)

While JABA is not directly affiliated with the County Commission on Aging, they collaborate on many efforts and are assisting on recruiting a Board Member for the COA.
