Market Central is currently operating a full season farmers market at Ix Art Park.  We encourage the community to support local food and farms because of the health, environmental, economic, and social benefits they bring.  We need marketing and social media expertise, book-keeping, fundraising, and leadership skills,  as well as general enthusiasm for supporting and developing the role farmers markets play in the community and our lives.  Farmers markets grow life!

Annual Time Commitment (including committee meetings, special events, work outside the board, etc.)

Minimum, 12 hours/year on the administrative end.  However, there is ample opportunity to participate more.  Spending time at the markets and envisioning the future is irresistable!

Is a minimum financial contribution required?

Additional Information

The Corona virus has really exposed some shortcomings of the local food system.  Local farms had planted and started harvesting food, but did not have a place or plan to distribute it, even though it is considered an essential service.  Fortunately, with our partnership with The Ix Art Park,  we were able to extend the Winter Farmers Market and provide both walk-in and/or online ordering options to shop and/or pick up at Ix Art Park.  The Corona Virus has highlighted the need for a dedicated and flexible market space.  We need board members who are interested in establishing a permanent home for a local farmers market so access to local food can be expanded and not disrupted.  If you would like to discuss our work, please feel free to call or email. We feel we have a lot to offer the community, but need a strong team to adopt and act on our vision.

Does The Organization have Directors & Officer's insurance?
