We all agree that where an individual lives shouldn’t determine how far they can go in life. The Opportunity Index is the nation’s first, and only, tool to holistically measure opportunity. This is a fantastic tool for needs assessments and community planning efforts. Organizations are able to search for their community under the “county view” tab and see their scores broken down into a variety of metrics including economy, education, and community health.
Community Commons offers another great tool to obtain locality-level indicator data. It is necessary to register for a free password, however there is a wealth of information available on individual localities, including data on employment, education, housing, and more!
