CNE Programs: CNE Workshops
At the UVA Career Center, Dreama serves as a career counselor and leads the Public Service Career Community supporting students interested in careers with social impact. She is also piloting programming for students interested in global careers after UVA. Dreama oversees the Career Peer Educator Program which consists of a group of highly trained students who serve as ambassadors of the Career Center and deliver presentations to student groups on career-related material.
Dreama joined the Career Center in July 2012, having previously worked in various offices throughout the University, including Student Financial Services as the AccessUVa Coordinator and the Office of the Dean of Students as a Graduate Assistant. She has also served as an AmeriCorps member with the Virginia College Advising Corps, helping students and their families apply and access higher education. Having been the first in her family to graduate from a four-year college, Dreama is passionate about helping students from underserved backgrounds succeed in higher education.
Dreama is a double Hoo, having earned her B.A. in Religious Studies and M.Ed. in Student Affairs Practice in Higher Education at the University of Virginia. Dreama also loves to travel internationally and lives in Charlottesville with her partner, Marc, and their two precocious felines – Chloe and Ginger.
As an Assistant Director to the UVA Career Center team, Kim is focused on the development of the Internship Center, a centralized hub of internship resources and programming designed to increase student engagement, career exploration, professional skill development, and internship placement. She is a member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) and Cooperative Education and Internship Association (CEIA).
Kim joined the Career Center in October 2014. She brings extensive industry perspective and career preparation strategies from her previous experience in corporate recruiting at McKinsey & Company, and work in external relations, career services, and admissions at Dartmouth’s Amos Tuck School of Business, Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management, and most recently, the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Kim is dedicated to supporting students in making valuable connections between their academic studies, values, personal interests, and future careers.
Kim is an alumna of Dickinson College, where she studied English, and is in the final stage of graduate work in Educational Foundations Policy and Practice at the University of Colorado, Boulder. She lives in Crozet with her family and enjoys time with her kids, horse, and dog. and touring the beautiful Virginia wine country.
