Allan Burrows has been with Capital Development Services since 1994, and president since 2006. He manages the company’s marketing, operations, campaign and search divisions, and presents to dozens of conferences and board sessions every year.
Prior to joining Capital Development Services, Allan graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and began his work as a development officer at the Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina in 1986. In 1990, Allan became Vice President for Development and Operations at the North Carolina Child Advocacy Institute
In his 30 years of fundraising experience, Allan has led campaigns and development work throughout the Southeast for a broad array of nonprofit clients including educational, health and human services, social, religious, environmental, arts and cultural institutions. He is experienced and trusted at working with leadership, major gift solicitations, planned giving, board development, strategic planning, conducting major campaigns, and executive search.
A North Carolina native, Allan has served on boards including Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Forsyth County, Ronald McDonald House of Winston-Salem, JDRF, and the N.C. Center for Nonprofits. He has served as stewardship and campaign chairman at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Winston-Salem, and volunteers with his children’s activities.
