Andrew joined CNE in 2016 and manages the development and implementation of trainings for CNE’s Charlottesville office. He directly supports the development of nonprofit leaders through contributions to CNE’s Board Academy, as well as working closely with other trainers and Board Academy faculty. Andrew also manages CNE’s program evaluation and coordinates surveys with external stakeholders. He played an important role in shaping CNE’s Justice & Equity Initiative prior to 2019 and currently sits on CNE’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Steering Committee.
Prior to working for the CNE, Andrew taught philosophy and women’s studies in both Canada and the United States. He has published scholarly research on student’s responses to learning about privilege and systemic injustice.
He moved to Charlottesville in 2014 with his partner, their daughter, and their dog, Jolene. A cat has since acquiesced to living with them. Outside of work, you’ll often find Andrew reading, practicing Kung fu, listening to social science podcasts, or cooking for friends and family.
Andrew uses he/him/his pronouns out of habit but is very open to gender-neutral pronouns.
