As the Program Manager, Andrew coordinates all of the workshops, advanced trainings, and academies that CNE offers at the Charlottesville location. He directly supports the development of nonprofit leaders through contributions to CNE’s Board Academy and Management Academy, as well as working closely with other trainers and Board Academy faculty. Andrew also manages CNE’s program evaluation and coordinate our biannual Salary Survey and Members Survey. Because CNE interns play such an important role in programs and evaluation, Andrew plays an integral role in CNE’s Intern Program. He regularly contributes writing to the CNE newsletter and played an important role in shaping CNE’s Justice & Equity Initiative.
Andrew brings a passion for education. Prior to working for the CNE, Andrew taught philosophy and women’s studies in both Canada and the United States. He has published scholarly research on student’s responses to learning about privilege and systemic injustice. He moved to Charlottesville in 2014 with his partner, their daughter, and their dog, Jolene. A cat has since acquiesced to living with them. Outside of work, you’ll often find Andrew reading, practicing Kung fu, listening to social science podcasts, or cooking for friends and family.
Andrew uses he/his/himself pronouns out of habit but is very open to gender-neutral pronouns.
