Justin Reid is the Director of African American Programs at Virginia Humanities. Justin is a cultural preservationist and civil rights public historian, and at his position at the Virginia Humanities, he facilitates cultural heritage initiatives across the state. At Virginia Humanities, Justin will lead the continuing development of the African American Historic Sites Database, an interactive guide to hundreds of African American historic sites across Virginia. He manages the African American cultural resources taskforce for the General Assembly. Justin was a founding board member of the Virginia Children’s Book Festival, and he co-founded the Lemon Project on History and Race at William and Mary.
