Maintaining Balance During the End-of-Year Push

December 20, 2018

With its short dreary days, year-end fundraising crunch, and pressure to make the most of our time with friends and family, the holiday season can get some of us down. But we can and should work against the effects of the “winter blues”.

Take care of your self! Heed these tips for unplugging and unwinding over the holidays. A little bit of self-care can go a long way.

To echo the sentiments of Vu Le: give your staff some time off. If it is possible to close the office, even for a day, do it. And this doesn’t have to be a holiday tradition — staff can enjoy time off year round!

The holidays can be more than just annoying, they can be a time when some of us experience serious symptoms of seasonal depression. It is a good time of year to remember that reaching out to friends and colleagues that exhibit these symptoms can be an important step in getting them the help they need.
