CNE Brown Bag Lunch Series

These lunches are designed to give individuals an opportunity to learn practical, actionable tools/facts/strategies that can be used by all size organizations immediately. In addition, they will create a lively forum for discussion and an opportunity to learn from each other.

There is no charge for members, and a $10 charge for non-members (please note that guests may only attend once without becoming a member). Walk-ins are welcome, and payment for non-members can be made at or after the event. However, registering before hand--by phone or email--will ensure that you receive any materials. How to Register.

New 990 - What it Means for Your Organization

The IRS Form 990, Return of Organization Exempt From Income Tax, is the information return most tax-exempt organizations file with the IRS each year.  The IRS has completed its most extensive and comprehensive redesign of the Form since 1979, which will be effective for the 2008 tax year.  Stephen Clarke, IRS Project Manager for the Form 990 redesign, will be describing the background and purpose behind the redesign, what areas of tax compliance the redesigned Form focuses on, and what new information must be disclosed on the Form.  He'll highlight key parts of the Form and instructions that tax-exempt organizations should be aware of.
