POSITION: Coordinator | Advancement & Communications (CAC)

TEAM: Advancement

HOURS: Monday-Thursday, 9am-5pm; Friday, 9am-4pm. Occasional work possible outside standard work hours, with flex time encouraged.

LOCATION: Based in CNE’s Charlottesville office, with the possibility of one day per week of remote work.

SALARY: Full-time, salaried position with a hiring range of $44,000-$55,000 and a robust benefits package (see below). 

 

Coordinator | Advancement & Communications

CNE seeks a full-time Coordinator (CAC) who will provide administrative support to the Advancement team, coordinate communications, and assist in advancement database management.

The CAC will demonstrate excellent internal and external customer service, attention to detail, and communication skills.

We envision tasks and responsibilities to change throughout the year as organizational need and activities evolve with our annual Advancement Calendar.

The CAC will report to the primarily to the Director | Advancement (DA), with the possibility of additional duties being assigned.

Job Duties

Specific duties of the role include:

Advancement (~60%)

  • Provide general administrative support to the advancement team.
  • Support the advancement team in the engagement, solicitation, and stewardship of CNE donors.
  • Support the preparation of the Friends of CNE email newsletter.
  • Maintain and continually update CNE’s donor pipeline and CRM database.
  • Manage and coordinate the Advancement team’s utilization of CNE digital systems.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and support meetings at the direction of the DA (including Philanthropy Advisors and Philanthropy Day)
  • Provide general administrative support for CNE’s annual Philanthropy Day celebration.
  • Track grant timelines and deliverables in support of the DA.
  • Field requests from donors and stakeholders and respond to inquiries or direct to other advancement team members.
  • Generate advancement data reports.
  • Process donor acknowledgments.

Communications (~40%):

The CAC will work with CNE stakeholders and contractors to implement aspects of CNE’s communications strategy which may include:

  • Maintain and ensure CNE communications calendars are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Coordinate design and marketing of external-facing projects at the direction of the DA.
  • Drafting and editing communications copy and material.
  • Assisting the advancement team with the management of the organization’s external image.
  • Provide communications support for and coordinate with both internal and external communications teams for CNE’s Philanthropy Day annual event.
  • Coordinate with other Learning & Impact and Operations teams to provide communications support across the organization.
  • Assist with the preparation of materials for the Friends of CNE newsletter.
  • Manage media opportunities for the advancement team.

The CAC will coordinate and be in frequent communication with other coordinators to ensure organizational support is being deployed effectively.

Desired Skills & Attributes

A successful Coordinator will bring a positive disposition, an eagerness to learn, a strong attention to detail, and a willingness to take ownership of tasks both big and small.  They will have exceptional verbal and written communication skills to be able to draft and review professional advancement correspondence, respond to donor requests, and be in frequent contact with staff and stakeholders.

Additionally, this individual will understand and value equity as an organizational operating principle and be committed to continued learning on issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable with coordinating communications across teams and external consultants. Experience using social media communications and graphic design is a plus. A successful applicant will have experience in donor CRM/data systems management, with Salesforce experience being a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time, salaried position with a hiring range of $44,000 to $55,000. CNE offers a robust employee benefits package, including 100% of employee health insurance coverage paid, 12 weeks of paid parental leave for birth/adoption, the opportunity to participate in a 403(b) plan with employer match, and 160 PTO hours available in the first year of employment plus 17 paid holidays. This role will include opportunities for professional development and growth.
